 Sand and Rock

House upon the sand
Dampness makes the castle stand.
Beware the suns hot heat,
The wind of winter,
The rise of river to beat
All that's built into splinters.

House upon the rock
Built of stone
Enjoys the warmth.
It sits amidst the storm
Watching river roar.
Peace within. Safely home.

 Reach

Reach your hands, High
And feel the Breeze
Between each finger.

Reach up, Higher
Straighten your spine
Hold back your head
Gazing toward heaven.

Reach your life, Up
And feel God's face
Between each finger.

Reach up, Higher.
Welcome His spirit
Hold open your heart
Stretching toward home.

Reach up, Hold Him
And feel heaven's face
Here in your heart.

Light

Darkness of Despair
Crushed amid the tender cool
Come light, and warm my soul

Angel

Magnificent, glorious one.
Setter in motion of things God wants done.
Vessel of power, might full of strength.
Pour out your vial,
Pour out your bowl,
Shout as a trumpet,
Make the earth roar.

Psalms 1
Haiku Poem

Stand not in Evil.
Flee the garden of Sinners.
Wicked liars fall.

Sit not with Jesters.
Hot streams of vile words flow deep.
Pretty serpents bite.

Drink deep from God's stream.
Delight in pleasant moist fruit.
Night flowing into day.

Your leaf shall prosper.
Green branches full of cool breeze.
Destiny smiles sweet.

Glory

The Lord comes walking.
Glory floods the whole vast earth.
My Lord, walk in me.

Screen

Screen upon the wall
Blank slate of life
Possibilities and hope
No stains, no tare, no hole.
Mirror of my life
Show promise, beauty full.

 Earth Wars
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

The Lord rose up, and His enemies were scattered.
The Lord opened His mouth and roared, 'Enough'!
And all the works of His enemies were shattered.
Our Lord sat down, and His heart returned to us.

Too much Lord
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

Burden too great
Sorrow too deep
Mourning and sackcloth
My clothing, my pain

God:
Feel this grief
Yearn for relief

All nature groans
My bones
Ache

Come quickly Lord
Come Lord
Hurry
Come

Rescue my soul
Hug me
Hold

Tossed
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

Going nowhere, planless, lost
Keeping moving, straining, tossed.

Swimming in thoughts too thick to think.
Cresting foam of tide withdrawn
Inside where it's quiet, time
Folding, unfolding, healing, torn.

Lord of heaven, take me with you,
Set me free,
Let me travel, close to Thee.
And I will sail along with ease.

 Psalms 23 & 24
Haiku Poem
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

The earth is the Lord's
We rest in quiet places
Peace flows through our hearts

Evil will not stay
The water of life cleans us
Death, a shadow fades

Who bathes in Glory?
Fresh oil overflows our soul
The Lord dwells with us

See His holy place
The gate of God wide open
Come into His heart

Gravity

God covers the earth.
All rivers lead to the sea.
I'm traveling home.

 Little Faith
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

Oh, we of little faith.

We want the Pastor, Friend, the Priest
To calm the storm---to set the feast
To raise the dead.

We struggle to raise the lukewarm.

Our faith is like a tithe;
Nine tenths are Doctors, Drugs, and Rest....
One tenth we trust Him:
When it doesn't matter
When the Doctors, Drugs, and Rest don't work
When we can't afford the Doctors, Drugs, and Rest.

Just once we ought to risk
To seek Him first--to trust
To raise our death, to heal us.

Then we could do the things He said
Healing the sick, and raising the dead.

Destiny
Copyright (c) 1998 Andrew Mealey, All Rights Reserved.

The future has been written
Sometime before our grasp.
The end has been discovered
Before the times were past.
What is since beginning
We'll find it out at last.

From the days of old there is nothing new.
Ere it's done, it's all been told.
The finish is at hand,
God...unfolds His plan.
